Photo Analysis
- Feelings/mood- What are you trying to communicate in your photographs?
I'm trying to communicate Jiu Jitsu being a sport that has lots of respect involved. - Subject placement- What areas of the images are important to you?
The first image: How happy and proud my son is. Second: the respect before the match. Third: the thoughtfulness of watching and learning from other matches. - Multilayered- Describe the multilayers of meaning in your photographs.
Again, Jiu Jitsu is self defense, however, it is a sport with lots of love and respect. - Depth of field- If parts of the image are out of focus why did you choose to photograph those areas out of focus?
In the first picture, I wanted my son to be the focus, yet be able to see the many people and lots of activity at these tournaments. - Light- What light sources did you use to photograph your images this week. (natural, window, outdoor, or flash) If you used your flash explain how the artificial light was a better choice than natural light.
I used the lighting inside the college gym we were at. I had wondered, in the close up photo anyway, if a flash may have helped? - Improvement- What would you do to improve your photographs if you were to re-shoot them?
I would have liked to try the flash even though it was really bright in the gym. Also would love to learn how to get action shots without noise. Have to turn up the ISO but that creates noise. I think the ISO could have been turned up more as far as the blur in the action photo I didn't intend on having.
